FAQ's

  • WHAT ARE YOUR FEES?
New individual client fee is $175 for a 50 minute session.
New couples client fee is $185 for a 50 minute session.

  • HOW DO I PAY?
You can pay with cash, check, debit card or credit card.

  • DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?
I am an out of network provider so I do not take insurance.

  • WHAT SHOULD I COME PREPARED WITH?
As your therapist, my job is to provide you with a safe space to enable you to bring your most authentic, vulnerable self. If you come with that, I will take care of the rest. I know that the first visit can be filled with so much anxiety and fear, so your main job is to show up, and let me lead and join you on your journey in therapy. Some clients find it helpful to bring a journal to write down things they learn or ideas they discover, but this is not a requirement.

  • WHAT WILL IT BE LIKE?
Going to therapy can be nerve wracking. It is a new experience to trust someone you just met with the vulnerable parts of your self. The first appointment we will take some time to cover any business details/paperwork and then I will find out a little bit about what brought you to therapy and what your concerns are. I will also want to get to know you, not just your presenting problem. Sometimes I will suggest totally optional "homework" exercises to extend what we are doing in therapy. It is never a requirement.

  • HOW MANY TIMES DO I GO TO THERAPY?
The expierence for every client is unique, depending on the presenting issue and client need. Sometimes clients come into therapy hoping for a "one-time" visit to "fix" their problems. While sometimes this can be applicable, most often you will discover that the concern you came in with was not the root of the problem. I work with each client to define goals and achieve progress together. If this is an important topic for you, I can definitely give you some idea, after the first session, how long your time in therapy may look.

  • HOW LONG IS THERAPY?
Sessions are 50 minutes long. If you show up late, we will still end according to your original start time. If I am late, I will go longer to ensure you get your full 50 minutes.

  • WILL YOU TELL ANYONE WHAT I SHARE WITH YOU?
Therapy is confidential. That means I cannot share with others what you share with me in our sessions. The only exceptions are if you are going to hurt yourself or someone else.

  • ISN'T THERAPY JUST FOR PEOPLE WITH MENTAL PROBLEMS? Even though therapy is more accepted than it ever has been, it can still feel like it's only for people with really really big problems. But therapy is for all people. It's for people struggling to make decisions, struggling with their faith, trying to get out of a relationship, trying to get in a relationship, marital problems, identity questions, grief, loss, anxiety, singleness, fear, family of origin. Therapy is for you if you want to grow, change, find more freedom and more of your truest self.

To console does not mean to take away the pain but rather to be there and say, “You are not alone, I am with you. Together we can carry the burden. Don’t be afraid. I am here.” That is consolation. We all need to give it as well as to receive it.
